The new RIEGL VZ-400 3D laser scanner provides scanning with high accuracy and speed in the near infrared region of the spectrum. The scanner is able to perform high-precision measurements thanks to echo digitization algorithms, real-time waveform analysis, which allows to achieve very high measurement performance, even in difficult atmospheric conditions and in the presence of multiple echoes. The laser scanning mechanism is implemented using a rapidly rotating polygonal mirror.

The RIEGL VZ-400 laser scanner is a very compact and lightweight device that can be oriented arbitrarily, even in tight spaces.

Laser scanner control modes:

High definition digital camera:
Optionally, the scanner can be equipped with a high-resolution digital camera Canon EOS 450D (12.2 Megapixels; USB interface), which allows you to color the point cloud in true color.


The combination of three components - laser scanner, RiSCAN PRO software and digital camera - gives the following results:

Registration in the project coordinate system:

registration without stamps:
- through the built-in single-frequency GPS-receiver, with positioning accuracy up to 2.5 meters
- using built-in tilt sensors (range +\-100, accuracy 0.0080)

- MSA adjustment software module
registration by marks is carried out using detailed scanning of reflective marks with their subsequent registration in the RiSCAN PRO program
registration at a known station:
